About the programme

Today, steel is indispensable and irreplaceable in all areas of life and is the most versatile and economically significant material. Steel can be recycled, which is why it forms the basis of today's circular economy. With its annual global production, it is in second place, just behind cement.

The development of steels and other non-ferrous alloys such as aluminium, magnesium, titanium, copper and others are necessary for a successful global economy and to ensure the technical progress of civilization in the future.

The basic goal of the first cycle professional Bachelor’s study program Metallurgical Technologies is to train engineers who can immediately enter the industries of production and processing of metallic materials and the field of using metallic materials to produce sophisticated products with specific properties. In order to be able to effectively control the quality of the products, students are introduced to modern methods of testing and characterizing metallic materials during their studies.

In addition to acquiring theoretical knowledge, work in laboratories and practical training in companies are an important part of the study program. In most cases, graduates of the Metallurgical Technologies program are employed directly after graduation in industries that require knowledge in the field of metallurgy.
