About the programme
The uniform master’s study programme Pharmacy is designed for those who wish to gain a comprehensive understanding of medicines, from their initial concept in the laboratory to their safe and effective use in patients. The programme prepares students for diverse career paths in community pharmacies, the pharmaceutical industry, clinical-biochemical and other diagnostic laboratories, and provides an excellent foundation for doctoral studies.
During their studies, students explore the world of medicines in depth and become familiar with the entire drug development process. They learn to design, synthesize, isolate, analyse, and evaluate drugs, as well as to understand their effects in the human body. Particular emphasis is placed on the development of pharmaceutical dosage forms, from classical technological processes to modern nanotechnological approaches, and on assessing the quality, safety, and efficacy of medicines.
The programme also provides students with knowledge in pharmacotherapy, professional patient counselling during the dispensing of medicines, as well as analytical methods and interpretation of results in clinical-biochemical laboratories, which are essential for disease diagnosis and monitoring treatment outcomes. Pharmacy studies thus integrate science, practice, and the direct impact of medicines on human health.
