About the programme

The main aims of the Social Work master study programme is to enable students to learn the ground values, theories, concepts, principles, mandates, methods, skills and procedures of social work in the fields of long-term care for elderly, psychosocial support and help for individuals and families, community care, social justice and radical perspectives, as well as education, and practically qualify for work in respective areas.

Graduates will gain competences to do research, organise, analyse, co-create solutions and develop innovative approaches to the processes of support and help to the people in distress in the special, social work manner, different from the approaches of other professionals who are working with people in distress.

The main aim of the Social Work master study programme is to upgrade the so far gained knowledge and skills with additional necessary competences for social work. Those include social work theories, methods, procedures and skills of professional conduct and research, and above all ethical sensibility and values by which social workers make significant contribution to building a society with less social inequalities and more social justice and inclusion along with successful co-creative collaboration among actors in different areas of social work.
