The Faculty of Law of the University of Ljubljana (UL PF) is one of the founding members of the University of Ljubljana and the oldest and largest law faculty in Slovenia.
It was founded in 1919 and its first lecture was given by its first dean, Prof. Dr. Leonid Pitamic. Since its foundation, the Faculty has educated legal professionals who occupy important positions in our society and shape our legal environment. Today, the Faculty is housed in a renovated building and provides a creative academic environment for higher education at all levels.
The following institutes, which are related to the work of the Faculty, are part of the UL PF:
- Institute of Labour
- Institute of Public Administration
- Institute of Criminology
- Institute of Comparative Law
In addition to the above-mentioned institutes, the Institute of International Law and International Relations operates as an organisational unit of the Faculty, and the Centre for Information Technology, Law and Ethics (CITPE) operates as a liaison body between the Faculty and the institutes.
In this environment, students can actively participate in various other forms of knowledge and skills acquisition relevant to the legal profession today, even while studying abroad. Students thus compete with great success in national and international student competitions, participate in so-called law clinics, take part in international student exchanges and undertake student internships abroad.
