    First application round confirms considerable interest in studying at the University of Ljubljana

    By the end of the first round of applications for candidates from Slovenia and EU Member States, the University of Ljubljana’s Higher Education Enrolment and Information Service had received a total of 9,824 applications for 9,569 places for undergraduate and integrated master’s degree programmes. Of this number, 9,657 were for full-time and 167 for part-time study.

    Honorary titles of Professor Emerita and Professor Emeritus awarded at the University of Ljubljana

    As part of University Week, the University of Ljubljana awarded the titles of Professor Emerita and Professor Emeritus. These titles are conferred on retired teachers of the University in recognition of their significant contributions to the development of science or the arts, as well as for their dedicated teaching and mentoring work. This year, the titles were awarded to 14 retired teachers.

    Campus Center project: a solution to the space problems of faculties and a better quality of life in the city centre

    The University of Ljubljana presented the Campus Center project, in which students of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Ljubljana, under the mentorship of Prof. Jurij Sadar, Asst. Prof. Ana Kreč and researcher Jure Hrovat, carried out a spatial survey of the existing buildings with the project task of placing the UL member programme in the existing buildings of the University on Aškerčeva Street after the relocation of the UL Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the UL Faculty of Pharmacy to the new buildings.

    Dr. Sanela Pansinger receives Horizon Europe - ERA postdoctoral fellowship for integrating citizen science into urban planning

    Austrian researcher Dr. Sanela Pansinger has been awarded a postdoctoral ERA fellowship under the European Commission's call for proposals HORIZON-WIDERA-2022-TALENTS for a two-year research project HUBCITIES at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Ljubljana, where she will work with her supervisor Dr. Lucija Ažman Momirski from the Department of History, Theory and Restoration. Dr. Lucija Ažman Momirski explained, 'The main aim of the project is to develop a new approach to sustainable spatial development of airport and seaport areas using citizen science. Residents are actively involved in co-designing and negotiating future spatial and urban development through joint research with urban planners. This approach makes urban planning more satisfying for residents, professionals and all other stakeholders".
