Opis gostovanja

Dr Tina Marolt-Čebašek is a Senior Lecturer in Civil Engineering at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), where she teaches geotechnical engineering courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She also supervises undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students in civil engineering.

Dr Tina is an experienced host of postgraduate students (master’s, PhD, and postdoctoral) from Slovenia and warmly invites interested individuals to contact her by email. Visits typically last from 3 to 10 weeks, during which time students work either on their own projects or contribute to Dr Tina’s ongoing research. Her research interests are primarily focused on civil engineering and the built environment.

Previous projects undertaken by Slovenian students have included topics such as the use of generative design and machine learning in selecting structural solutions; numerical modelling (Abaqus, RocScience, Tekla); work in a geotechnical laboratory; work with sensor technology in the lab; image capture using the Spot the Dog robot; use of 3D printing for concrete and other materials (plastic, carbon fibre, metals); virtual reality applications; and a scaled tunnel segment model project.

In addition, Dr Marolt-Čebašek is open to collaboration on joint research projects with researchers from the University of Ljubljana.
