Extracurricular activities are activities in which students take part outside their regular studies, and which are not necessarily associated with ECTS points. The activities are advertised by member faculties and academies, the University, faculty/student societies and organisations, professional associations and other organisations in Slovenia and abroad. We encourage you to join in.
Extracurricular activities are one of the criteria for assessing quality in accreditation procedures, and for evaluating higher education institutions and study programmes.
They are an excellent way for students to get to know their peers and to relate over common interests, and they offer relaxation, professional development and the acquisition of key skills for life and one’s career path. Involvement in extracurricular activities also enables the development of various generic competences such as creativity, problem-solving, cooperation, adaptability, time-management, negotiation techniques and much more.
They help students explore their interests, which in turn makes it easier for them to decide on their further career path.
For future students they represent one of the important criteria in deciding to pursue academic studies.
