About the programme
The main objective of the bachelor study program Biopharmaceutical engineering is to train specialists who are capable of independently performing technical tasks in analytical and development laboratories as well as in production facilities of companies operating in the biopharmaceutical industry, classical pharmaceuticals, toxicology, molecular biology, bioinformatics, or various branches of biotechnology.
During their studies, students acquire interdisciplinary knowledge that integrates the theoretical foundations of natural sciences, pharmacy, biotechnology, chemical engineering, and informatics with applied knowledge for solving complex technological challenges. Students become familiar with biotechnological processes involved in the development and production of biopharmaceuticals, quality assurance, and standards of good laboratory and manufacturing practice. They learn about various bioanalytical methods and techniques used for quality assurance and for the characterization of biopharmaceutical products. They also gain insight into drug registration processes and the role of regulation in ensuring the quality, safety, and efficacy of medicines.
The program enables students to become competent professionals with the knowledge, skills, and values required for successful work in the global biopharmaceutical industry.
