Faculty of Medicine

The Faculty of Medicine is a member of the University of Ljubljana (UL MF) and is divided into the Department of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Studies, the Department of General Medicine and the Department of Dental Medicine. Both sections provide undergraduate and postgraduate education for students. The teaching takes place at the UL MF and in public health institutions which have the status of teaching institutions.

About the faculty

Graduates obtain the degree of Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Dental Medicine. UL MF runs postgraduate programmes leading to the degree of Doctor of Science. In addition, the faculty participates in undergraduate and postgraduate study programmes at other faculties and colleges that are members of the University of Ljubljana. UL MF carries out scientific research work as a prerequisite for educational work and scientific research work in accordance with the programme of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport. UL MF is involved in international cooperation programmes of medical disciplines, which represent the professional peak in the fields covered by its institutes.
