About the programme

The main objective of the doctoral programme in Materials Science and Engineering is to train professionals with competences suitable for employment in research positions in the natural sciences and engineering, especially in the development, manufacture and use of traditional and modern functional materials, in the public services or to pursue a research career in academia. Students who successfully complete the proposed programme will acquire, in particular, the competences and skills to critically analyse, evaluate and synthesise new and complex ideas, the ability to communicate in their field of expertise with colleagues, larger professional groups and the wider public, and the ability to promote scientific and technological progress at both academic and applied levels in a knowledge-based society.

Admission requirements and application for enrolment

For the call for enrolment, candidates have to apply on the eVŠ online portal.

At the latest at the time of enrolment, the candidate must submit a written agreement from the mentor or possible co-mentor to accept the mentoring or co-mentoring. At the same time, the candidate must also submit a brief conceptual outline of the research.

Tuition

Tuition fees and study contributions are published in the price list for the 2025/2026 academic year.
