Faculty of Maritime Studies and Transport

The Faculty of Maritime and Transport of the University of Ljubljana (UL FPP) has a nationwide and broader character in the undergraduate education of university and higher professional staff in maritime and transport sciences, postgraduate education of specialists, masters and doctoral candidates in transport sciences, and scientific research activities in transport sciences.

The transport sector is undergoing major technical, technological and organisational changes. The concept of transport is changing and the transport technology processes of the individual transport industries are constantly being updated. Transport logistics, with its structure and functions, has encompassed the entire economy and social activities. Developments in science, in particular in operational research and informatics, ensure just-in-time supply, which makes transport services increasingly competitive. Maritime transport is increasingly using IT and automation. Ships are becoming increasingly automated and specialised. Ports have adapted to the changes in the maritime transport market and are becoming the most important logistical link in the transport chain.
