Almost 2.8 million European funds for innovative student exercise programs
The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved almost 2.8 million euros in European funds for the zMIGAJ! program. This program will provide young students with two extra hours of exercise per week, which they will co-create with their teachers. Encouraging regular exercise is essential for young people's health and well-being, especially as they are increasingly exposed to stress, sedentary lifestyles, and digital screens. Regular exercise has been proven to improve mood, self-esteem, concentration, and academic success, as well as promote social bonds, cooperation, and mutual respect.

EUTOPIA at this year's Association for International Higher Education (EAIE 2023) Conference and Trade Fair
The 33rd Annual Conference and Exhibition of the Association for International Higher Education (EAIE) took place this year from 26-29 September 2023 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The professional meeting brought together more than 239 exhibitors and over 6,600 higher education staff from all over the world, with 7 of the 50 European university associations present, including EUTOPIA.

ECOTOPIA Summer School (ECOTOPIA Summer School) The Educational and Research Network for the Development of Short-term Mobility Programmes (EUOTOPIA), which took place for the first time this summer at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Ljubljana (UL EF), was selected as one of the EUTOPIA affiliated communities. Participation in the EUTOPIA Affiliated Communities is an important step towards internationalisation for the University of Ljubljana (UL), as it allows for the pooling of teaching and research between partner universities.

Members of the academic community of EUTOPIA replace MEPs for a day in the European Parliament's central debating chamber
This year, EUTOPIE universities marked the start of the academic year in a particularly festive way, with the presence of students, professors and ten rectors at the European Parliament, where they gave up their central debating chamber for this important and symbolic event last Friday. In doing so, they made European politicians aware of the importance they attach to science and university education.

EUTOPIA invites students to register for a debate event in Paris
Two students from the University of Ljubljana (1st or 2nd level) will have the opportunity to participate in the 1st EUTOPIA Ideas Club. This is an international student club that aims to raise awareness of European values. The first meeting will focus on the theme of inclusion and cultural diversity. The aim is to give students a voice in shaping and developing a European identity and inclusive citizenship.

EUTOPIA's 2023/2024 Academic Year officially launched this year with the signing of the formal establishment of EUTOPIA as a non-profit international institution
Europe, EUTOPIA and the need for a new renaissance are the words that epitomise this year's launch of the EUTOPIA Academic Year 2023/2024, which will be organised in close cooperation with the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) at the European Parliament. Jan Danckaert, Rector of VUB, announces: "The European Parliament is the ideal venue for our EUTOPIA Academic Opening Session. My message is clear: Europe and the world need a new renaissance and a new enlightenment, and alliances like EUTOPIA are key to achieving this vision."

Matematični fizik prof. dr. Tomaž Prosen je kot prvi v Sloveniji pridobil že drugi prestižni projekt Evropskega raziskovalnega sveta (ERC ADG)
Podeljen projekt ERC AdG (ERC Advanced Grant – namenjen uveljavljenim raziskovalcem) je nedvomno najprestižnejši znanstveni projekt, ki ga lahko dobi individualni raziskovalec. Za prof. dr. Tomaža Prosena pa je to že drugi tak projekt, tokrat z naslovom QUEST (Quantum Ergodicity: Stability and Transitions). Poleg vrhunskega uspeha v svetovnem merilu za raziskovalca, gre tudi za izjemen dosežek Fakultete za matematiko in fiziko Univerze v Ljubljani – predvsem za njeno izjemno kakovostno raziskovalno okolje, ki ga nudi raziskovalcem in njihovim skupinam.
